Item description: * See scan – great condition for this fantastic Georgian collector antique jewel. This is a scarce and rare most likely French pendant necklace containing an oval centerpiece with a Royal blue and white enamel center typical for Limoges pieces towards end of 18th century. The enamel painting depicts a flying spring fairy holding blossoming flowers in her hands. The enamel is intact without any restorations of any kind. The size of the enamel center itself is around 28mm x 23mm and the size of the whole oval including the diamonds frame is about 36mm x 33mm. The size of the whole pendant including diamond hook and diamond hanging bells is 88mm tall by 36mm wide. There is a total number of 34 clear white and sparkling diamonds set in an open setting throughout the whole jewel and all diamonds are a very good symmetrical old European cut / rose cut and by far better than cheaper old miner cut diamonds also used during this period of time. The diamond frame has 24 equal size diamonds each measuring about 3.1mm in diameter. The total diamond weight of all diamonds in this piece of antique jewelry is around 3.2-3.5 carats. The diamonds are set in thin silver over solid gold base. The back of the enamel center used to have a gold cap that appears to be replaced later on with a similar or identical such. However, this is irrelevant to the overall beauty of the piece. There is a later 19th century era thin gold chain attached to pendant, which comes as bonus to the piece.
